Dieudonne Cedor

1925 – 2010

Cedor was born in Anse A Veau, Haiti and joined the Centre d’Art in 1947 after a brief carpentry career and quickly distinguished himself to become chief of the studio.  He served as a board member of Foyer des Arts Plastiques.  His work as described by Gerald Alexis “can handle any subject expressing joy or sorrow, the splendor and anxieties of life”.  Considered one of the leading contemporary artists of Haiti, his work is exhibited in permanent collections around the world.
