Prosper Pièrre-Louis 1947-1997
is a Haitian born in Bainet, near Jacmel.
One of the main contributors of the Saint Soleil art movement.
He was one of the Cinq Soleil (five Suns: Levoy Exil, Louisiane Saint Fleurant, Dieuseul Paul, Denis Smith) art movement. These artists had branched out of the Saint Soleil movement. He died in 1997 of an asthma attack.

Eric Girault was born on Haiti’s Southern peninsula in Jeremie. Considered to be one of the best Impressionist Haitian painters, he is referred to as ”Vibration of Life” for the way Impressionism helps him to express his feelings and attitudes about life and nature.
He studied at the L’Ecole d’Art Brochette, befriending artists Ti Ga, Lazard and Cédor. In 1969 he joined the School of Visual Arts in Haiti where he discovered his unique Impressionistic style. He has said that “My work depicts the humbleness of everyday life”.
Eric Girault’s legacy and influence is woven into the fabric of contemporary Haitian culture and his artwork is exhibited around the world. His paintings are treasured and sought after by many renowned collectors.
