Prosper Pièrre-Louis 1947-1997
is a Haitian born in Bainet, near Jacmel.
One of the main contributors of the Saint Soleil art movement.
He was one of the Cinq Soleil (five Suns: Levoy Exil, Louisiane Saint Fleurant, Dieuseul Paul, Denis Smith) art movement. These artists had branched out of the Saint Soleil movement. He died in 1997 of an asthma attack.

Born in Ganaives, Haiti, Bresil informed his passion for art at an early age and was influenced by the natural themes of his native landscapes and his fascination with flamingoes. His distinct style and inspiration earned him the Ispan-Unesco award in 1981. His work is exhibited widely in the Americas and Europe. Additionally, Bresil is a common artistic source in many reference catalogs.
