Prospère Pierre-Louis 1947-1997

is a Haitian born ini the southern coastal town of Bainet, near Jacmel.

Prospère Pierre-Louis was one of the main contributors of the Saint Soleil art movement. His work was notable for his depictions of mythological Vodou Loas and spirits.

He was one of the Cinq Soleil (five Suns: Levoy Exil, Louisiane Saint Fleurant, Dieuseul Paul, Denis Smith) art movement. These artists had branched out of the Saint Soleil movement.  He died in 1997 of an asthma attack.
