Born Franck Etienne, in the small village of Ravine-Seche, he is a well-known artist, poet and writer whose abstract painting style is heavily inspired by the artist Jackson Pollock “action painting” expression whereby leaving shining trails of paint on the canvas to convey his inner torment.  He is also recognized as the “father of Haitian letters” for his myriad contributions to promote the understanding of Haiti and its culture through his sometime satirical commentary on Haitian ways.
