Audes Saul
1949 – Present
Saul was born in Bombardopolis, Haiti. Orphaned at the age of 16, Saul landed in Port-au-Prince and worked as a jack of all trades. Encouraged by the success of his brother as a painter, Audes began to apply his craft during the tumultuous era of the 70’s.
His work was selected by Andre Malraux and Jean-Marie Drot for exhibition in Paris and Auxerre where Vogue reproduced his work. Characterized by vibrant colors and stylized depictions of everyday life, his work has been exhibited and auctioned around the world.
