Prosper Pièrre-Louis 1947-1997
is a Haitian born in Bainet, near Jacmel.
One of the main contributors of the Saint Soleil art movement.
He was one of the Cinq Soleil (five Suns: Levoy Exil, Louisiane Saint Fleurant, Dieuseul Paul, Denis Smith) art movement. These artists had branched out of the Saint Soleil movement. He died in 1997 of an asthma attack.

Ernst Louizor
1938 – 2011
Louizor was born in Port-au-Prince and attended Lycee Toussaint L’Ouverture high school. He began his painting career at age 13, joining the Centre d’Art under the tutelage of Wilmino Domond. He later entered the Academie des Beaux-Arts in 1959 and continued his studies with George Ramponeau.
Honing his craft as the leading impressionist painter of Haiti, his expressions are rendered in many disciplines. Louizor has exhibited in America, Europe and many private collections.
He died unexpectedly in 2011 while traveling in the United States.
